One of my favorite things about instrumental music is that it lives in a world outside words. While I want this project to speak for itself, it also feels right to share a few words about the process of pulling it all together.

None of these songs were made with an eye towards releasing an album or any coherent final project. Each instead was an exercise in quieting my mind by connecting with a deeper sense of play. I began each piece by sketching a simple loop of vague duration, then filled in the gaps until the sounds felt like a field I could rest in. These loops had places they wanted to go and shapes they wanted to take. In assembling them, I was more steward than creator.

I've kept these fields close for a long time, but it's time to let go and give them a life outside myself. I hope they help you get to a similar place of wordless wonder. Thanks for taking the time to listen.
